Photos from the Free Book Giveaway and Reading at Southwest CDC’s Patterson Site Summer Camp (7/31/24)

On July 31, 2024, Greater Philadelphia Community Alliance, The Free Library of Philadelphia, The Friends of The Paschalville Library, Southwest CDC, and Pride Enterprises, Inc. came together to promote literacy.

A free book giveaway was held at Southwest CDC’s Patterson Site Summer Camp where it warmed our hearts to see the children extremely excited about reading. Members of Pride let the children know they are working hard to create a newly renovated Paschalville Library that will take their quest for knowledge to the next level. They also read the book “I Want To Be A Builder” to the youth and answered questions about construction.

Along with the books, the children were treated to free pretzels and water ice.

Thanks to all of the staff and volunteers who helped make this day so special.
